Advanced Diploma of Multimedia (Interactive Media) (CUF60501)

 

Course Description
The Advanced Diploma of Multimedia (Interactive Media) at VU emphasises practical work and project management with a focus on usability and design. Students gain advanced software and production management skills over three semesters before specialising in an area of interest with a supervised major research project in the fourth semester.

 

The Advanced Diploma of Multimedia (Interactive Media) at VU develops skills in interactive media, web design and development, 2D design, digital video, 3D animation, electronic art and writing for multimedia.

 

Graduate Prospects/Employment
Students graduate with sophisticated creative and technical abilities as well as a comprehensive understanding of design principles, project management and industry needs. Completion of The Advanced Diploma of Multimedia (Interactive Media) furthers careers in design, art and new media.

 

Previous graduates have successfully established their own multimedia consultancies; worked as part of multi-skilled teams in the fields of education, entertainment, information and commerce both internationally and in Australia; and have exhibited at SIGGRAPH, dLux media Arts, Fringe, Fusion new media festivals and events. Current students are already making their mark with exhibitions, web design and independent commissions.

Course Details
The Advanced Diploma of Multimedia(Interactive Media) at VU specialises in web design, interactive multimedia, sound and video, 3D animation, 2D design and writing for multimedia. The Advanced Diploma of Multimedia at VU consists of 26 approved industry standard units of competencies selected from the Film, Television, Radio, Multimedia Industry Training Package (CUF01)

 

Our Advanced Diploma of Multimedia(Interactive Media) course is taught at both our Flinders Street and St Albans campuses.

 

Entry Requirements
Entry to The Advanced Diploma of Multimedia at VU for full time study is obtained through VTAC and by interview/folio presentation. Applicants must complete the VTAC Application form and apply for an interview . Interviews and folio presentations are generally conducted in late November/early December.

 

Pathways
A credit pathway exists from the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia to the third year of Victoria University’s Bachelor of Arts Degree in Multimedia.
