Our Certificate IV in Music Industry
(Technical Production) CUS40201 course aims to provide students with a wide
range of knowledge and skills to be able to work
in the music industry, either as small business
(freelance) operators in a variety of music
technology and related fields including
home studio, live sound, MIDI production, digital audio editing,
collaboration and management, or as practitioners in medium to
large production facilities. This course provides training in both live and studio
recording practices. Students have access to excellent
facilities, including a state of the art computer lab and seven
industry standard studios - all available for use after hours.
Location
All of the Certificate IV courses
are delivered at the Sunbury campus.
Opportunities for further study
Articulation pathways exist from the Certificate
IV programs into the Diploma programs and then into Victoria University's Bachelor
of Music courses.
How long is the course?
All of the Certificate IV courses are offered on a full time
basis over 1 year.
How much are the fees?
You will only pay TAFE fees for the Certificate IV and Diploma courses - in other words,
you will not pay the HECS Higher Education Fee. As a guide, our fees in
2008 were around $1100. These fees are subject to change. Please

are extra - expect to pay approximately $200. Fee exemptions and concessions
are available depending on
eligibility.
