Diploma of Music
Our Diploma of Music course
provides you with the advanced skills required to
familiarise yourself in the selected area of study and to
consolidate the basic skills in the various areas of specialisation. Entry
into this Diploma course requires satisfactory completion of a
Certificate IV course (or equivalent) in the
appropriate field of study.
Diploma of Music
Our Diploma of Music CUS 50101 course
focuses on building the technical, compositional and performance
skills of the contemporary artist including music analysis, music craft,
improvisation, technology, touring and self-promotion skills, all to
professional standards and also to meet the requirements of entry into
higher education and/or the workplace.
Students have access to well equipped rehearsal facilities and a
21 machine computer music lab with a wide range of production,
arranging, composition and multimedia software.

The Diploma course
is delivered at the Sunbury campus.
Opportunities for further study
Articulation pathways exist from the Diploma programs into the
final two years
of Victoria University's Bachelor
of Music courses.
How long is the course?
The Diploma course
is offered on a full time
basis over 1 year.
How much are the fees?
You will only pay TAFE fees for the Certificate IV and Diploma courses - in other words,
you will not pay the HECS Higher Education Fee. As a guide, our fees in
2008 were around $1100. These fees are subject to change. Please

are extra - expect to pay approximately $200. Fee exemptions and concessions
are available depending on
eligibility.
