Performance

The VE Performance program offers training and development in performance and production skills for the independent Theatre and Dance Arts industry. Our aim is to create a dynamic collaborative training environment for new and existing performing arts practitioners.

Our training programs in Theatre Arts and Performance are offered from newly developed studios and theatre spaces at the Footscray Nicholson and Sunbury campuses. We focus on extending the performer’s physical and psycho-emotive range while nurturing foundational skills in the creation and realisation of new works for the live performance industry.

The Performance program has an existing professional association with Malthouse Theatre with which it hosts the award winning* 3DFest - an annual Tertiary Theatre Festival for new and emerging theatre artists across Victoria.

We also have an established International exchange program with destinations in Canada, USA, UK The Netherlands, Japan and France.

For practising theatre and dance artists we offer five and tenth month residency programs that explore the creative and compositional process.

We’re also developing an annual mid-year performance workshop festival.
